Several media outlets are reporting that Dallas-based AT&T (NYSE: T) plans to restrict iPhone sales under a two-year contract at third-party retailers, leaving the AT&T Next installment plan as the sole payment option. In its own stores and online, AT&T is expected to continue offering contract plans. At noncompany stores, customers buying an iPhone will choose a monthly payment plan spanning 12, 18 or 24 months for the hardware with separate payments for service.
