The state is inviting more than 2,000 of its government employees to apply for buyouts. The Associated Press reports that the offers from Gov. Bill Haslam's administration were sent out last week. According to the AP, employees would receive four months salary plus $500 for each year served as a state employee, along with six months of subsidized health insurance. The deadline to apply for buyouts is July 17.
