Another property tax increase could be coming to Collierville

Collierville residents could soon see an increase on their property taxes, but they'd get a new high school for their money. A measure that would set the town’s property tax rate at $1.73 per $100 of assessed value passed on second reading during a meeting of the city's mayor and aldermen. If the tax passes, it could raise property taxes for a $200,000 home from $765 to $865 a year. Each cent brings in about $150,000 of revenue for the town, according to The Commercial Appeal.
