Cardinals hacking dates to 2012: report

The St. Louis Cardinals’ alleged hack of the Houston Astros’ network that hosted special team-built databases dates to 2012, according to a Houston Chronicle report that cited a person familiar with the F.B.I.'s investigation. The Chronicle report said the hack wasn’t a “one and done” deal, with separate breaches coming in 2012, 2013 and March 2014, when the F.B.I. got involved.
