
As the summer home buying season is set to begin, buyers and sellers are keeping close tabs on U.S. mortgage rates. The bad news is that rates have been inching higher and took a substantial jump this week, according to Freddie Mac. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rose to 4.04 percent this week, an increase from 3.87 percent last week. The current mortgage rate is the highest so far in 2015.
