Renovation nearing for Nineteenth Century Club

After years of uncertainty about its future, the Nineteenth Century Club building on Union is set for a renovation. A $2.17 million building permit was filed by Union Group LLC last week, clearing the way for work to begin to turn the building into a restaurant. The more than 15,000 square-foot building at 1433 Union Ave. was won via a bid in 2013. The building was originally scheduled for demolition but in August of last year, the owners announced the building would be renovated.
