
Rising prices for beef translates into higher burrito costs at Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. The Denver restaurant chain (NYSE: CMG) is charging 4 to 6 percent more for its steak and barbacoa burritos, according to Eater.com. Because of the drought in 2014, cattle herds were thinned and beef prices jumped by 12 percent, Fortune.com reported, and prices are still high. Chipotle last raised prices in 2014, which was the first price increase in three years.
